The Teachers Day school holiday ended in tragedy for a Mandevu family when their child who was playing near ZESCO installations was electrocuted.
Ngwerere ward councilor Adrian Banda said that the incident happened in Mandevu this afternoon.
Mr. Banda said the boy died on the spot and the decease’s body has been deposited in the University Teaching Hospital mortuary.
Mr. Banda said “We got a disturbing call from our ward where a young boy got electrocuted after touching a ZESCO cable.
“I rushed to the scene after notifying the police and ZESCO over the matter.
“We managed to take the body to UTH and further investigation have been constituted as to why a live cable was idle on the ground,” he said.
