Four candidates have successfully filed in their nominations in readiness for the forth coming Kalilele Local Government by-election in Mushindamo District.

United Party for National Development – UPND candidate Gladys Kashimoto was the last one to file in her nomination papers after the independent Patrick Mwewa filed in.
And UPND provincial secretary Lordwell Kalubankwa has asked the people of Kalilele to vote for the UPND candidate.
Mr. Kalubankwa said the people of Kalilele should not be humble with their votes by voting for political parties and candidates who have no vision for the people.
“The people of Kalilele, this your time to liberate yourselves, and you can only do that by voting for the UPND candidate Gladys Kashimoto,” he said.
The Kalilele by-election was necessitated by the death of the UPND candidate Elizabeth Sachiwanu who died a two weeks before the 12th August 2021 polls, resulting in the postponement.
And the Electoral Commission of Zambia-ECZ has since set 21st October 2021 as poll date.
Meanwhile, Mushindamo District Returning Officer Mulala Libombela has urged all political parties taking part in the election to conduct their campaigns in a peaceful manner.
