Inspector General of Police, Mr. Lemmy Kajoba has called for quick investigations in the hacking of a police officer and harassing of PF supporters by suspected UPND carders.
The police boss says that those behind the act should be brought to book without delay.
Police in Lusaka have since instituted investigations in a matter where thugs were reported to have gone to Kamwala market yesterday ,and are alleged to have harassed those that were perceived to be members of the Patriotic Front.
The carders locked their shops and chased them from the market.
According to Police Public Relations officer Esther Katongo,police officers who were within the vicinity responded to the report and in trying to address the matter, one police officer was hacked in the head and he sustained injuries.
She said when police sent in reinforcement, the criminals scampered.
Ms. Katongo further stated that police are investigating the matter and those that will be found wanting will be dealt with accordingly.
