Red Arrows coach Chisi Mbewe was a relieved man after his team recorded their first win of the season after beating Green Eagles 1-0 at Nkoloma Stadium on Sunday.
Chrispin Sakulanda scored for Arrows the lone goal as he charged the airmen to their first domestic win.
Arrows have been enduring a bad domestic form having initially drawn two and lost two ahead of this game.
“All glory goes to God, this is what we planned. Looking at the way we played the first four games our game plan was that we have to win this game so that we maximise the points.
We started well, we played well. And in the second half we did not keep the ball and allowed Eagles to come into our half.
“We have to work on our chances so that we are able to score more goals,” Mbewe said.
The win is a boost for Arrows as they prepare to take on Angolan side Premiero de Agosto in the Confederation Cup first round.
In an early kick off at Nkoloma, Buildcon gave up the lead to draw 1-all against Lusaka Dynamos.
Lubinda Mundia gave Buildcon the lead but Collins Sikombe scored a brilliant goal that shared the spoils.
