Lusaka, June 13, 2024 — At the Annual Aviation Stakeholders Meeting hosted by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), Minister of Transport and Logistics, Honourable Frank Museba Tayali MP, emphasized the critical role of collaboration and partnership in achieving sustainable growth in the aviation industry. The meeting’s theme, “Collaboration for Sustainable Growth,” set the stage for discussions on the future of aviation in Zambia.

 

 

“By working together with determination, innovation, and collaboration, we can build a brighter future for aviation — one that is safe, efficient, and sustainable,” Tayali stated. He expressed satisfaction with the progress and teamwork evident in the preparations for the upcoming ICAO Audit, scheduled for late August to early September 2024. “There has been close collaboration across ministries and institutions to ensure the ICAO Audit is successful,” he noted.

 

CAA Board Chairperson Dr. Patrick Nkhoma echoed these sentiments, highlighting the importance of such meetings for the exchange of ideas that drive civil aviation safety, security, and economic growth. “I am confident that through this collaborative meeting, we will be able to exchange ideas that will facilitate the country’s long-term goals of civil aviation safety, security, economic growth, and development,” Dr. Nkhoma said.

 

 

CAA Director General Captain Derrick Luembe revealed that the Authority is undergoing a transformation to better meet the needs of the aviation industry. He thanked the Board, the Ministry, and aviation stakeholders for their support throughout this process.

 

The event also featured the launch of the CAA 2023-2027 Strategic Plan, marking a significant step forward in the Authority’s commitment to enhancing the aviation sector in Zambia.
