City University of Science and Technology (CUST), Council Board Chairman Gaston Fred Sichilima has urged youths to develop an entrepreneurial mindset and also invest in education.
Mr. Sichilima added that those that have taken that entrepreneurship route have benefited greatly and are now doing great things with the spirit of consistency.
He urged students to be focused in their studies as that will make them to be exposed to great platforms.
“Most great inventors and business person’s that have made it have gone through a lot and it is because of that persistence they are great inventors and business person’s,” he stated.
Meanwhile, CUST Chairman Prof. Muyenga Hatanga disclosed that CUST wants to partner with MUST a renowned American science University.
Prof. Hatanga added that the primary role as a school was to be one of the top science tertiary provider in Zambia as UNZA and Copperbelt University are the top in the country providing these services.
He added that they have introduced the pre-foundation giving room to those grade twelve pupils that failed to obtain the five O’ levels by allowing them to learn and later choose their course of choice.
Prof. Hatanga bemoaned the lack of innovation from the top universities in the country since independence.
He challenged the media to engage the technocrats on the other challenging and health things that affect the general public unlike talking about politics all the time.
“Many people are dying unknowingly because there is no one to educate them on the dangers of the food we eat and other harmful things that we are exposed to,” he challenged.
Prof. Hatanga stated that they are espouses to follow the same principles of observing Zambia being a Christian nation and that all the principles that guide and make man live right before God and through wisdom.
And. Independent Churches of Zambia (ICIZ) Rev. Bishop David lMasupa has urged students to get inspiration from godly person’s that are walking right before God.
Bishop Masupa advised the students to be humble and learn from their lecturers who are their immediate role models.
He added that the students should be a perfect example in every place they will go to as they are ambassadors of the school
Also CUST Vice Chancellor Joseph Katoka Nyanga noted the university has come a long way and that the launch of the second semester for the year 2022 is another step in the right direction.
Mr. Myanga disclosed that the newly Introduced school of agriculture and school of business and entrepreneurship.
He noted that they are supplementing hospitals with student nurses on a practical basis.
