ZAMBIA’s emissaries in the Confederation Cup Zanaco and Red Arrows this afternoon take a shot at qualifying to the group stage of the competition when the first leg of the play – offs kick off.
While Zanaco seem to have an easy opponent in Malian second division side Binga FC, Arrows have the biggest of tasks as they have to negotiate with Simba SC of Tanzania.
Arrows play their first leg away at the Nationla Stadium in Tanzania where coach Chisi Mbewe says he hopes his team can come out with a positive result.
Mbewe said before departure for Tanzania that the team prepared well for Simba and it is just now left to the players to execute the plan.
“As for Red Arrows, this is a game that we are looking [forward] to. We want to qualify to the group stage we know it is not going to be an easy game but what is important for us is to be ready, fight and ensure that we qualify to the group stage,” Mbewe said.
For Zanaco, they will be at home against Binga in the first leg and coach Kelvin Kaindu has declared his team ready.
“I think we are ready we had ample time to recover after playing our last competitive game over the weekend probably we had our first full week to full train for quite some time after without having no time or full week for preparations,” he said.
The match has been set for the National Heroes Stadium in Lusaka.
