The United Party For National Development (UPND) structures in Chavuma district have rejected newly appointed Chavuma District Commissioner Shindanyi Mbundu.
The angry party structures have accused Mr. Mbundu of having resigned from the party when it was in opposition and opted to support independent candidate Fredrick Fwoloshi in the 2016 general elections.
According to a petition addressed to President Hakainde Hichilema signed by the district chairman Isaac Lukama, the party has accused him to have further campaigned for an independent candidate in the 12 August polls Martin Sondoyi.
The party has also accused the newly appointed District Commissioner of forming parallel structures and pressure groups against the party prior to the general elections.
Mr. Mbundu has further been accused of having resigned as District Coordinator as well as member of the Conflict Management Committee.
The party members have since written to President Hichilema to rescind the decision and appoint someone else who has been loyal with the party.
But efforts to get a comment from Mr. Mbundu proved futile by press time.
