ZAMBIA have continued their dominance at the current COSAFA Women’s championship after winning their third straight win in a 1 – 0 win over Uganda on Tuesday.

Grace Chanda scored the lone goal of the match for Zambia to enable them top Group C and go to the semi – final of the COSAFA were they will meet Tanzania.

Zambia have been on an impressive run of three wins beating eSwatini, Namibia and Uganda in a tournament where they have set their eyes at winning the event.

Coach Bruce Mwape made a few changes from the team that beat Namibia with defender vast Phiri and midfielder Elizabeth Mupeso started ahead of Mary Mubanga and Milika Limwanya respectively.

Chanda scored for Zambia in the in the 37th minute after beating Uganda keeper Ruth Aturo with a low driver a connecting a pass from Ochumba Lubanji.

“We thank God for the victory it was a tough game we knew they would come on us but we had to fight.

“Uganda were compacted and they closed up all the spaces which put us under pressure but the girls were able to get a goal,” she added.

On meeting Tanzania, Mwila said; “We are happy to go to the semi-finals. We meet Tanzania, Tanzania is not an easy team but we will fight on,” Zambia coach Florence Mwila said.
