GREEN Eagles have moved seven places up the table to sixth following a 2-0 win over Zesco United at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.
Former Zesco coach George Lwandamina watched from the stands his team was torn apart by resilient Eagles who put in a compact display.
After a scoreless first half, Eagles took the gear one level up in the second leg with defender Warren Kunda scoring the opener after heading in a corner.
Kunda was unmarked in the 57th minute heading past Gregory Sanjase in the Zesco goal to give the visitors the lead.
In the hope of levelling matters, Zesco went two down when Derrick Bulaya tapped in a pass from Emmanuel Mukosa in the 69th minute.
The loss sees Zesco fail to close the gap on leaders Green Buffaloes who are in action on Sunday against Nkana.
Eagles now move sixth with 13 points.
In Lusaka, Nkwazi were held to a scoreless draw against Kafue Celtic.
