The National Action for Quality Education in Zambia (NAQEZ) says the latest announcement by the Minister of Finance that Government will recruit 30,000 teachers in 2022 is historical, unprecedented and too exciting.
NAQEZ Executive Director Aaron Chansa says his organisation finds this governmental action very important, progressive and commendable.
Mr. Chansa further stated that this goes to show the value the President and his administration attaches to education.
“Thousands of unemployed teachers across the country are celebrating this development,” Mr. Chansa said.
He noted that having 30,000 new teachers next year will undoubtedly go great miles in healing the acute shortages of teachers in schools, especially in rural schools.
The NAQEZ Executive Director has since thanked His Excellence, the Republican President, Mr. Hakainde Hichilema, for listening to the cries for more teachers in schools.
“With gestures such as employing new teachers , NAQEZ shall give the new Government maximum support in promoting quality education in the nation,” he added.
