The Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ) says it is perturbed by a video circulating widely on social media in which Minister of energy, Peter Kapala has been accused of corrupt practices.
The video is attributed to Lumezi Member of Parliament for Lumezi Munir Zulu who has accused the minister of engaging in corrupt practices.
The EIZ has since clarified that Engineer Peter Kapala has never been found guilty of any professional misconduct by the EIZ Disciplinary Committee.
EIZ Chief Executive Officer Linus Chanda has disclosed in a statement that records of all disciplinary cases are available at the EIZ Secretariat for anyone to see.
“The EIZ is not aware of any allegation that Eng. Peter Kapala was a subject of a matter involving K400, 000 in relation to the Zambia Airports Corporation. The EIZ unreservedly denies any knowledge of this alleged matter” he said.
He said Mr. Kapala is a senior member of the EIZ who has served on previous Councils as Vice President in charge of Finance and Administration and as Chairperson of the Engineering Registration Board.
