Farmers in Eastern Province, have started to receive their farming inputs under the farmer input support programe (FISP).

The farmers are appreciative of how smooth the process has been so far and have commended Neria’s Investiments Limited, the company contracted to deliver the inputs for being on top of things in the excersise.

A check at several warehouses in Chipata found farmers redeeming their inputs through the Zambia Intergrated Agriculture Information Management System (ZIAMIS).

Katandala cooperative vice Chairperson Christopher Njovu is happy with the efficiency in reedeming of the farming inputs, and said everything starting with the Kilograms of fertilizer bags are correct.

Another farmer Cecilia Lungu, who is Chairperson of carrot cooperative is also happy that this year has not been congested with unnecessary delays in accessing inputs.

“We are happy that Neria’s has lived up to it’s target of making sure we recieve these inputs way before the rains start”,Juliet Hara, a farmer of Sianjalika cooperative further appreciated.

Meanwhile, Neria’s Chipata warehouse manager Gilbert Malumo has described the process of reedeming of inputs by farmers as smooth and very overwhelming and said the company is 100% ready to sucessfully distribute to all the 17,238 farmers.

Mr Malumo said over 5000 bags of both urea and compound D are targeted to be redeemed on a daily basis to ease the distribution exercise
