Political commentator and youth activist Chama Fumba famously known as Pilato has charged that the entitlement by some artistes who feel they own the president because they sang for him is very disturbing because President Hakainde Hichilema is president for all Zambians.
Pilato stated this on his Facebook reacting to rumors circulating on social media that a named group of artistes were planning to stage a protest because they were not included to perform at the official opening of the National Assembly on Friday 10th September, 2021. The group, according to social media posts claims they belong to the artistes’ group of the ruling United Party for National Development (UPND).
But in his post Pilato counselled that the time for partisan opportunities ended with PF.
“The President has a responsibility to serve every citizen even those artistes that didn’t sing for him (during campaigns). Opportunities to work and make money are not just for the UPND aligned artistes or members, “he stated.
“We cannot use proximity to the party to claim advantage and disqualify others because they didn’t sing for a political party of your choice.”
