The international Rally slated for Lusaka this Friday has received a boost with Sarago Motors donating an additional US$ 10,000 ahead of the event.

The Zambia Motor Sport Association (ZMSA) hosted a press briefing on Tuesday where it was revealed that Sarago has given then event organisers a shot in the arm.

Sarago Motors general manager Victor Kabwiku revealed at the US$10,000 that has been donated is in addition to the initial K175, 000 sponsorship package for the event.

He said the move was aimed at showing appreciation to the drivers who will be taking part in the event that runs from Friday to Sunday.

The event has also received a K10,000 from Rhino Carriers while other sponsors that have chipped in are Wild Cat [K20, 000], Gomes [K40, 000] and Sports Council of Zambia (SCZ) [K30, 000].

The organisers are still scouting for K50, 000 to meet the budget deficit.

23 drivers had entered for this year’s International Rally which will run for three days covering 408.26 kilometers.

There will be 12 stages of which six will be raced on Saturday and six on Sunday.

The rally sets in motion tomorrow with the raking stage for all drivers.

Friday will have a free practice in the morning and qualifying stage in the afternoon. The main rally will be on Saturday and Sunday.
