ZAMBIA’S renowned hip-hop music label XYZ Entertainment founded by rapper Mwila Musonda famously known as Slap Dee might be heading for extinction following the departure of two of its key members last week. However, XYZ problems seemed to have started way earlier than the exit of the two members.
Harry Mwanza fondly called H-Mac, who has been managing the label and its artistes including Slapdee resigned from his position saying he has done enough and needs to have others take over where he has left.
His departure was quickly followed by that of Koby, one of the label’s reliable artistes and sound engineers.
It is clear there will be more departures and inside sources predict the final collapse of XYZ as it is just a matter of time before B-Mac, Jorzi, Brawen and others ditch the label.
Following these happenings, some fans are not very surprised for they believe XYZ died a long time after its founder Slapdee, C.E.O Bobby East and artiste Nez Long signed for the infamous Kalandaya Music Promotions ( KMP).
Some XYZ fans believe Slapdee killed his own label when he decided to follow another music label’s dream, or maybe it was about his own personal interests? It will be exciting to hear what his reaction will be especially that KMP is facing heavy criticism following its involvement in political campaigns. As of now, it seems XYZ is headed for doom.
