FASHION Sakala put up a good show for Chipolopolo scoring a hat-trick in Zambia’s 4-0 win over Mauritania at National Heroes Stadium in Lusaka.
Zambia are locking to bow out of the World Qualifying race on a respectable note and they did just that at home.
Zambia got the lead in the 34th minute when striker Patson Daka connected an Evans Kangwa pass to beat the keeper on the near post.
Three minutes later, Zambia were handed a penalty when Kangwa was tripped in the box by the Mauritania keeper. Sakala stepped up to convert the penalty.
On the brink of halftime, Sakala completed his brace when tapped in a Daka pass to give Zambia a comfortable lead going into the break.
Sakala completed his hat trick in the 63rd minute after lashing on a Lubambo Musonda pass.
Zambia could have finished the game with an avalanche of goals but were let down by poor finishing.
The team heads to Tunisia this evening for Tuesday’s final group game.
