Dancehall and hip-hop sensation Jay Rox’s new music video for ‘Commotion’, his Slapdee assisted song has garnered just under 60 thousand views on YouTube in less than a week of its release.
The AFRIMMA-nominee assisted single seems to be closing in on Jay Rox’s Macky 2 collaboration ‘Calibre’, released two weeks prior, currently standing at over 91 thousand YouTube views.
The Upfront Films production directed by Jay Rox himself and OG BeeJay has seen close to over 500 comments on the Zone Fam great’s YouTube channel.
‘Commotion’ which is expected to make the cut for Jay Rox’s forthcoming album ‘Enigma’ marks the second time the two artistes are collaborating in two consecutive years after ‘Green Light’ which featured on the Headphone Music mogul’s 2020 album Scar.
It is however, the third time overall that Roxa as he is affectionately referred to by fans, teams up with Slapdee with their first project together being ‘Banibelesha’ which was off his 2012 album Mvesesani.
Jay Rox whose real name is Jackson Ng’ambi believes him and Slapdee are creatively alike.
“I think me and Slap are very similar in the way we view things both as individuals and creatives. It just felt right to put someone that would express themselves in the same line as me,”
Meanwhile Jay Rox has had a busy week which saw him make an appearance as one of the headlining acts at the R & G Oktoberfest last Saturday.
Earlier in the week, Drimz of the Salt Muli Soup fame featured the Joanna hit maker in his latest single titled ‘Ka Something’, which promises to be yet another summer banger.
