About 13,000 farmers in Kasempa have paid their K400 Farmer Input Support Programme ( FISP ) contributions. This is out of the 14,000 targeted farmers for the 2021/2022 farming season.
District Agriculture coordinator Joseph Masuwa disclosed that the response from the farmers has been overwhelming.
He stated that the K400 contribution is mandatory to all farmers that are on FISP.
“We are aware that every farmer that is FISP is supposed to make a contribution of K400, and I can confirm that over 13,000 farmers have so far made their contributions, “said Mr. Masuwa.
Mr. Masuwa has advised farmers who haven’t deposited their contributions to quickly make their deposits in time.
“Though we have not been given the deadline for the exercise, it is important that farmers make their contributions on time,” he added.
He revealed that the district has received the quarter of the required farm inputs in readiness for the farming season.
“Let me take this opportunity to assure the farmers that they will get the farm input on time to enable plan for the next farming season,” he said.
