Mr. Kamanga said it was further alleged that Mr. Lungu obtained money by false pretenses amounting to USD 2,200,000 and that he had also been charged for money laundering for the said amounts.
He told journalists in Lusaka yesterday that the money is said to have come into Mr. Lungu’s possession by virtue of him being the Provisional Liquidator for KCM.
“The Commission has arrested and charged Mr. Lungu for obtaining money by false pretenses, theft and money laundering contrary to the laws of Zambia, this follows the conclusion of investigations in the matter,” Mr. Kamanga said.
He said Mr. Milingo had been released on police bond and would soon appear in court while investigations of other matters of interest had reached an advanced stage.
