Lusaka Mayor, Her Worship Ms. Chilando Chitangala has expressed gratitude to Royal Lutanda Limited for their cooperation to safely removing the crane at the corner of Freedom Way and Katondo Street.
The Mayor said the major concern of the local authority was the safety of the people who were working around the site during the process of removing the crane.
“Our priority was to make sure that we didn’t lose any life or destroy property during the process” she said.
Ms. Chitangala noted that since the crane has been removed, it’s important that the building is completed as this will contribute to the beauty of the City.
The City Mother appealed to Lusaka City residents to work with the local authority to clean the City after the much talked about crane was removed.
“As a City mother I am concerned about the cleanliness of the City and I want other stakeholders to come on board to help beautify the city and reorganize it” she said.
Ms. Chitangala has since thanked Lusaka City Council engineers, Engineering Institute of Zambia, Mundial Works Limited and other stakeholders for the role in the task to remove the crane.
She said this after she toured the building to check progress on works on site this morning. She was received by directors of Royal Lutanda Limited and site contractor.
And Royal Lutanda Limited Director Michael Pasquini has thank Lusaka City Council for the support during the process of disassembling the crane.
