The Movement for Democratic Change MDC is confident that the UPND Alliance will emerge victorious in tomorrow’s Kaumbwe parliamentary by elections.
MDC Eastern Province Chairman Jacob Mwanza said today marking the last day of campaigns, the UPND Alliance is confident that it left no stone unturned in reaching out to all eligible voters who are convinced of voting for the alliance in the by election.
And Mr. Mwanza has hailed Republican President His Excellency, Hakainde Hichilema and the Republican Vice President Mutale Nalumango for having taken time off their busy schedules to drum up support for the UPND Alliance candidate Esnart Sakala.
Mr. Mwanza said the UPND Alliance candidate is a no match to other contenders because ground work has been done already to secure victory for the party.
He reiterated President Hakainde Hichilema’s sentiments during his campaigns in Kaumbwe that politics of lies are long gone because the people are able to see the UPND Alliance’s commitment to develop and reunite Zambia.
The MDC team which camped in Eastern Province during campaigns include Vice President for Politics Mr. Leonard Hikaumba, MDC Secretary General for Administration Ambassador Joyce Musenge and Eastern Province Chairman Mr. Jacob Mwanza among other officials.
The Kaumbwe parliamentary by election in Petaukae district of Eastern Province will be held tomorrow Thursday 21st October, 2021.
The elections will be held on the same day along with the Chisamba and Lusangazi Council Chairperson by elections and four other local government by elections.
The Kaumbwe parliamentary by election was necessitated following the death of UPND Alliance candidate, Mr. Boniface Iwell Khondowe on Tuesday, 20th July, 2021.
