Mr. Kabuswe says government wants sanity and order to be restored in the operations while it promotes small scale mining in the dump sites.
He says there is need to create a legal framework for youths to fairly participate in small scale mining.
And Mr. Kabuswe says government will ensure mine workers earn decent salaries.
He told journalists at a media briefing in Lusaka today that government wants sanity and laws that will not disadvantage investors and miners.
Mr. Kabuswe further assured investors that there will be stability and predictability in the mining sector.
He also said there is need to root out corruption in the mining sector which he stressed is currently in a mess and has disadvantaged Zambians from fully benefiting from the mineral resource.
Mr. Kabuswe said he will ensure the Ministry is present in all parts of the country where there are mining activities.
He said he does not want mines to flout regulations further saying there will be NO sacred cows.
Mr. Kabuswe further said government will ensure mineral wealth potential is fully exploited.
Meanwhile Mr. Kabuswe said government is yet to make a statement and come up with clear policy direction on Mopani and Konkola Copper Mines.
