A pastor of a named church in Mushindamo District has allegedly killed a 39 year old man after a dispute over land.
According to North Western Province Deputy Commissioner of Police Dr. Fred Mulenga, the sad incident happened yesterday around 16 hours in Mishingwa area in senior chief Kalilele’s chiefdom.
Dr. Mulenga identified the suspect Godwin Kutokwa and the deceased as Nelson Luyako.
He disclosed that the deceased was jointly beaten up by the suspect and his choir members after a dispute over a farm land ensued.
“And the case was reported by the uncle to the deceased Geoffrey Loloji that his nephew was beaten to death the suspect over land,” said Dr. Mulenga.
He revealed that deceased sustained a swollen forehead and bruises on the left side of the ribs.
The body has since been deposited in Solwezi General hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem while the suspect has been arrested.
