PRESIDENT Hakainde Hichilema’s official portrait for display in all public and private institutions as well as for other legitimate purposes have been produced, the Government has said.

Information and Broadcasting Services Permanent Secretary Amos Malupenga said the official portrait would be distributed through the Zambia News and Information Services (ZANIS) offices countrywide.

Mr Malupenga said in a statement  yesterday that the portrait was in three sizes,namely A4 which was being sold at K10.00, A3 at K15.00 and A2 at K20.

“Government wishes to announce that the official portrait of the seventh President of the Republic of Zambia Mr Hakainde Hichilema has been produced,” he said.

Mr Malupenga advised all public, private and other institutions to access a copy of the official portrait from ZANIS offices.

He further expressed concern with the unofficial portraits of the President being sold on the streets and warned against the illegal activity.

Mr Malupenga said there was only one official portrait produced through Cabinet office and distributed through ZANIS office.

“It is an offence to sell an unofficial portrait of the President. There is only one official portrait produced through Cabinet Office and distributed through ZANIS offices,” he said.

This is according to a statement issued in Lusaka  yesterday by Information and Broadcasting Services press and public relations unit.
