President Hakainde Hichilema should condemn the attack on PF vice president Given Lubinda in Petauke, African Youth Movement Executive Director Chanoda Ngwira has demanded.
Mr. Ngwira said that what happened in Petauke should be condemned in the strongest terms.
He said that President Hichilema promised the people that he will not condone cadreism but what is happening is contrary to what he said.
He said that violence should not be tolerated in a democratic nation.
Mr. Ngwira explained that now that UPND is power it should lead by example.
And FDD leader Edith Nawakwi who was part of the campaign team in Petauke said that the UPND will only rule the country for one term.
Ms. Nawakwi said that violence has not helped them to win the by-elections in Kaumbwe and Lusanzangi.
She said the President Hichilema should be ready to vacate State House come 2026.
On Tuesday Mr Lubinda’s entourage was attacked by suspected UPND cadres after appearing on a radio program in Petauke.
PF candidate Dr. Aron Mwanza emerged victorious in the just ended by-elections.
Dr. Mwanza got 6,633 in 46 polling stations against his closest rival Esnart Sakala from the UPND who got 3,1717.
Others are Willbase Tembo of the DP who got 517.
