Anxiety, uncertainty and expectations are high as President Hakainde Hichilema is expected to name his cabinet today.

Apart from the Finance Minister, Dr. Situmbeko Musokotwane who the President appointed a couple of weeks ago, the country will today know the full team that will steer the country’s development forward with regards to policy direction.

And various stakeholders are expectant that the cabinet will be all inclusive, professional and competent.

In an exclusive interview with New Zambia, Advocates for National Development and Democracy (ANDD) Executive Director Samuel Banda said it is important to have a team that will commit to duty.

He said it is also imperative that the cabinet should get straight to work considering the mammoth task which lies ahead of them.

“We hope the cabinet will comprise a team of men and women that will not look at personal but national interests” he said.

Meanwhile, various political party leaders have expressed concern at the delay to have a cabinet appointed.

PAC President Andyfold Banda is one of those that has called on President Hichilema to quickly constitute a team, as the country is in need of leadership in various ministries in areas such as Covid-19, education among others.
