Various stakeholders, some of whom have taken to social media to appreciate the new appointments, are hopeful that the new cabinet will meet the people’s expectations.
NDC president Saboi Imboela who has described the cabinet as ‘educated’ says this is good and shows that the president wants to have a cabinet that will deliver.
Ms. Imboela further notes that unveiling a cabinet means more than just seeing who will lead what but also helps show the key priority areas that government wants in order to drive its agenda.
‘Generally, this cabinet has more educated people than the last. This means that, as he has always said, Bally wants an educated team around him. Ba youth, have you dusted or written your CVs, do u have ideas that you want funding for etc.?’ she wrote on her Facebook post.
Ms. Imboela who is also happy with the creation of the technology and science ministry, has since urged youths to position themselves in order to be empowered by identifying opportunities ,adding that no one will knock on their door but themselves.
And social activist Lewis Mwape has observed that the ministries are well thought out and hopes that their mandate will adequately resend to urgent need for economic and social transformation.
‘Sir Hakainde Hichilema, we need innovative and versatile Permanent Secretaries in most of the ministries who will support and deliver your aspiration for labour restructuring, systemic and structural compliance’ he urged.
