Eden University Deputy Vice Chancellor professor Faston Goma has wondered why tobacco industries are calling on government to give them incentives when tobacco is not beneficial to the public.
Speaking in an interview Prof Goma said tobacco is killing people and it’s needs to be controlled.
“There is need to control the amount of tobacco that is been sold on the market saying it is destroying younger ones,” Prof Goma said.
He said he will soon be calling on the minister of health to discuss about the tobacco control Bill.
He has called on journalists to help in educating the new MPs about the tobacco control bill.
Prof Goma said he hopes the minister of local government Garry Nkombo will help to control tobacco in the streets.
