Eden University chief executive officer Kelvin Kaunda says an important democratic tone has been set by renowned lawyer and Professor Patrick Lumumba.
Mr. Kaunda who is the CEO of Eden University which hosted Professor Lumumba for his public lecture, expressed gratitude to him, government, the media and other stakeholders for the successful event.
Fourth Republican President of Zambia, Mr. Rupiah Banda was on hand to receive Professor Lumumba who spoke highly about having an ‘independent Africa’
“In my key note I did indicate, that two years ago as an institution we yearned to discuss Chinese investment in Africa but two years later this is a reality because we now ponder around democracy which stands has a common character amongst human kind across the continent and globe,” Mr. Kaunda said in a statement made available to New Zambia.
“I did also state that it is indeed one thing to preach about democracy and another to actually be beacons of democracy,” he said.
And Mr. Kaunda said Africa as far too long been on the verge of collapse not because of poor leadership, lack of freedoms, unstable economies or lack of technology, but for reasons that have been programmed to receive rather than to give.
“We have been taught to harvest rather than to plant, we have been cultured to buy rather than to manufacture all these and many other reasons,” He said.
“In all manner I thank God almighty for having given us the gift of life and strength to make this possible,” Mr. Kaunda said.
