NATIONAL Division One side Nchanga Rangers have appointed Robert Tembo as coach following the sacking of Israel Mwanza owing to a spate of bad results.

Tembo was until his appointment coach for lower Division side Shamuel Academy which is owned by Chipolopolo striker Evans Kangwa.

In a statement signed Rangers president Patson Nyirenda, Tembo has been tasked to win the club promotion to the Super Division at the end of the current season.

“Nchanga Rangers Football club today announce the appointment of Robert Tembo as the new head coach and urged him to ensure he wins promotion to the FAZ Super Division in the current campaign,” Nyirenda stated.

Tembo is a specialist in lower league football having coached Super Division side Kafue Celtic for eight years before leaving them at the start of the season when they won promotion.

The club has announced that Henry Chikombe will be the physical trainer while Enos Silwimba will be the assistant coach to Tembo.

“We believe Mr Tembo has pedigree and experience, coupled with a good philosophy that will enable Nchanga Rangers to not only return and sustain its winning ways, but also play free flowing football,” Nyirenda said.
