The Road Transport and Safety Agency (RTSA) has committed to enhancing road safety partnerships to auctualise progress in implementing the new United Nations Decade of Action for Road safety to reduce traffic crashes and fatalities by 50 per cent by 2030.
RTSA Director and Chief Executive Officer Mr. Gladwell Banda was speaking during a meeting today with Swedish Ambassador to Zambia attended by RTSA and Ministry of Transport and Logistics officials.
Swedish ambassador Anna Maj Hultgård has stated that the Swedish Government will support Zambia to enhance road safety in the country through collaboration and knowledge sharing of road safety best practices.
And the European Union Commission has appointed Zambia to oversee the coordination of the AFRO SAFE Project in southern Africa, a project aimed at improving road safety in Africa to be implemented over a period of three years beginning mid-year 2022.
