President Hakainde Hichilema has terminated with immediate effect the appointment of the Secretary to the cabinet, Dr. Simon Miti.
This is in exercise of the President’s powers pursuant to Article 270 of the Republican Constitution.
The President has since appointed deputy secretary to the cabinet for administration, Patrick Kangwa to act for administrative convenience.
Dr. Oliver Kalabo who is currently the permanent secretary at state house will act as deputy secretary to the cabinet for administration.
President Hichilema has thanked Dr. Miti for his services to the country and wished him well for the future.
Meanwhile, the President has dissolved four boards for ZESCO Limited, Zambia railways Limited, Indeni Petroleum Company Limited and Zambia Telecommunications Company Limited.
According to a statement issued by the President’s special assistant and spokesperson, Anthony Bwalya, the President has further terminated the tenure of the board chairman of the Zambia Consolidated Copper Mines Investment Holdings PLC (ZCCM-IH)
