One of modern Zambian music pioneers Shimasta has released a new ‘Freestyle’ single called ‘FREEDOM IN CAGES’.
According to Shimasta who is also known from the days Zambezi Music with his colleagues 2wice and Nasty D, says the song and the video was released on the 25th September, 2021, his birthday.
“The song was released via my YouTube account and other social media platforms like my Facebook page, Instagram and WhatsApp,” Shimasta explained adding that he is happy with the response so far.
“The song and the video has been overwhelmingly welcomed by my fans, blogs, Dj’s, Social Media influencers and Some Celebrities. I am happy with their reactions and a good number of Celebrities have shared the video on their Social Media platforms.”
Among the said celebrities are Macky 2, Dizmo, Slapdee, Ruff Kid, Mozegeta, Maureen Lupo Lilanda, Mumba Yachi,Chali Bravo,The Holster, Batu, Thatched Hut Production House and The International DJ’s Steel to name only a few.
‘Freedom in Cages’ is set in Shimasta’s typical style of fast and free-flowing lyrics in his usual lingual. He is addressing a number of issues not forgetting him showing his uniqueness and control of the hip hop game. The video, shot mainly in Black and White proves Shimasta’s legendary status in the game. The video was shot by His Ex- Boyfriend and has so far earned close to two thousand views within two days on YouTube.
