Zambian media practitioner Angel Phiri has described hip hop artiste Mwila Musonda aka Slapdee as an ‘ industry’ that deserves everyone’s support and vote at the 2021 All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA).
Phiri was adding his voice on the ongoing campaign by some social media followers who have opted to publicly refuse to vote for Slapdee at the AFRIMA because he sang for the Patriotic Front in the last election campaigns in Zambia.
The protestors are rather choosing to vote for other contenders not from Zambia, in a bid to hit back at Slapdee.
But Phiri, who is also a renowned filmmaker, television producer and artiste promoter said Slapdee may have sided with people who supported PF but ‘we can still show him some love.’
” Love him or hate him Slapdee is an industry,” Phiri stated.
“He changed the influence of our music today, almost single-handedly.”
He said only those who do not know him will throw shade.
“Forget the braggadocio, it is part of the trade. Win or lose, nothing will change the narrative. Salute to King Dizo.”
