Zambian hip-hop star Slapdee has with immediate effect asked to have his AFFRIMA nomination withdrawn following public ridicule.
He says the withdrawal is a sign of remorse, and asked why he should win a trophy when ‘you can’t win the hearts of your own people’.
He says the last two days have been heavy with debates over his AFFRIMA nomination.
He said in his apology message to his fans that the turmoil created by the online debate has dragged the people he loves and cares about into the conversation when we should be having an honest debate.
“I get it, I took my influence for granted and made a selfish decision. I let down the very people I should have fought for and stood by. For that I am HONESTLY SORRY. I write this not to win sympathy over the on going nomination but purely for a smooth and peaceful life with those I may have hurt” he further said.
He has accepted that indeed mistakes were made and lessons have been learnt.
“Again I say, I’m sorry for all the damage I may have caused to any of you. Peace, love and light” he wrote.
