A 28 year old man in Solwezi has committed suicide by taking doom after being fired from his place of work.
According to North western province deputy commissioner of police Dr. Fred Mulenga, the incident happened on Tuesday around 18 hours in Weigh bridge are and identified the deceased as Michael Milupi.
Dr. Mulenga disclosed that the deceased was fired from one of the commercial banks and that he is under investigations.
“The deceased is also said to have a lot of credits from different people who have been calling him for the past one week,” said Dr. Mulenga.
He explained that upon failing to contain the pressure, the deceased decided to send a text message to his girlfriend saying ‘bye and that it was over with him.
“After seeing the text, the girlfriend who was in transit enroute to Mwinilunga decided to call the maid and garden boy to the deceased who later found the man in unconscious state,” he explained.
He said he was later rushed to Solwezi general hospital where he was pronounced dead.
He said police visited the scene and a 750ml of Doom by the bathroom door.
“And the deceased body has since been deposited in Solwezi general hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem,” he added.
