Speaker of the National Assembly Nelly Mutti has ordered Home Affairs and Internal Security Minister, Jack Mwiimbu to issue a statement on the status of violence in the country.

She said this in Parliament when leader of the opposition Brian Mundubile raised a point of order on increased political violence in the country.

Mr Mundubile complained on how the UPND carders have continued on the path of violence in disregard of President Hakainde Hichilema’s directive and commitment to stamp out violence.

Mr Mundubile is saddened with the increase of intimidation of PF witnesses and officials especially at courts in full presence of the police.

He wondered how violence among UPND carders is failing to be contained even in the midst of law enforcers.

Ms Mutti has since given the minister one week in which to come back to the house to give a comprehensive statement on the violence happening in the country.
