Nyatanda ward councillor Tobias Kambeu in Chavuma district has scooped the position of vice council chairman for Chavuma Town council in an election held during the first meeting of Council.
Four candidates applied but one nomination was withdrawn just before the elections according to the
Town Council Secretary Kennedy Bwalya.
Mr. Bwalya said Mr. Kambeu was declared as duly elected vice council chairman after beating two other contenders.
And Speaking earlier, Council Chairperson Rodrick Sandando assured Stakeholders that the council will work together with all stakeholders so as to bring development for the people of Chavuma.
Mr. Sandando every stakeholder has a key role to play in developing the area stating that the growth of the town can only be achieved through good governance, good leadership and community participation.
“And as a council, ours is an open door policy where the voice of every stakeholder shall be considered,” he said
He thanked the People of Chavuma for giving him and the councilors the mandate to serve.
