United Party for National Development UPND Alliance Chairperson Charles Milupi has expressed happiness that the transition from one party to another was peaceful and within the line of one Zambia one nation.

Mr. Milupi Commended president Lungu for the gesture of being statesman.

He also commended the foreign heads of states and governments including the commonwealth and opposition leaders that came to witness the event.

He said the alliance will commit itself to continue working with the President to better the country and deliver what was promised to the people.

He said the new dawn entered after the declaration will be realised and lost glory will be achieved.

Mr. Milupi Observed that the seven years of PF being in power was full of disorder, theft and abuse of public resources.

He added that the people involved in the vices will be made to account using the due process of the law.

“During this process, peace and reconciliation will be maintained, the government will not interfere with the work of the security agents,” He said.

Milupi added that the new government will carry its function in a fair and transparency manner and hope to deliver its objective.

Meanwhile Alliance Deputy Chairperson Ernest Mwansa regretted the booing president Lungu suffered at the stadium during the inauguration.

He said the people were reacting from the way the previous regime treated them.

He was of the view that the hand over ceremony should have been a momentous event for the people saying what happened should be a lesson for the future Presidents.

Felix Mutati, another Alliance Partner said free education is a targeted goal that should be achieved.

“To achieve this objective, the new government will have to address the economic challenge faced in the past, this will mean addressing the debt issues incurred by the previous government,” He noted.

He said the new government will definitely achieve the free education goal but will be dependent on how the government address the challenges inherited from the previous government.

On positions sharing, Milupi said it is not the desire of the alliance partners to ask the president what position to get.

And Kelvin Bwalya Fube KBF said there is nothing sinister for president Hichilema to delay from moving to state house.

He said the government is still doing some formalities before the president can move to state house.

He stated that there is no current minister of works and supplies to provide for the furniture for the new head of state to move in to the new house.

KBF has agreed with Counsell John Sangwa to revisit the constitution and address certain concerns raised by the people.

He particularly want the current parliament to agree on technical issues available in the constitution.

He added that those who amassed the wealth which does not correspond with the source of income will be made to account.

He noted that the law is available to ensure that those who displayed money to explain how they got their wealth.

“This does not mean that the government will not be witch hunting but ensuring that Obeying illegal order is not a defense to criminal charges, those who accepted illegal orders will be prosecuted and they will be made to disclose those made those orders,” KBF said.

He said the government will investigate the cases put on book and those found wanting will be made to answer and those clean will not be prosecuted.
