The ruling UPND will this Saturday host the meet the President gala dinner at Mulungushi International Conference Centre in Lusaka.
Speaking at the media briefing this afternoon UPND Resource Mobilization and Investment Chairperson Raphael Muyanda says the event is part of the fundraising engagements the party will host on a regular basis.
Mr. Muyanda says the fundraising gala is meant to raise money for party operations because the UPND is resolved to run the party separately from government.
He says part of the money raised will go towards supporting women and the Youth as part of its campaign promises to create opportunities for the youth and women.
Mr. Muyanda says the UPND has also resolved to be a transparent and accountable party stating that funds raised through the fundraising events will also be audited.
