Vortex Electronic Company Limited in Lusaka has allegedly dismissed over sixty workers at it’s KSSH site in heavy Industrial area.
According to an internal memo circulated by the Operations Manager,the dismissal has been termed illegal by management.
Workers where demanding for their salaries and improved working conditions.
“Management has observed that there is an illegal work stoppage at KSSH site, due to the foregoing, you are therefore dismissed with immediate effect” said the operations manager, B Chembe.
Management has further asked the employees to be free to reapply within twenty four (24) hours adding that all applications will be subject to scrutiny and will be treated on individual merits.
