Beston Chambeshi is aware of the task ahead and knowing what is at stake, Chipolopolo coach Beston Chambeshi is eying three points when Zambia takes on Equatorial Guinea in a World Cup qualifier at the Malabo Stadium today.

Zambia are playing catch – up in Group B where they lie second with three points at par with their hosts while Tunisia are leading the group with six points.

Mauritania are at the base of the group having failed to win any match in the campaign so far.

Chambeshi said in an interview on Wednesday before departure for Malabo from Cameroon that the team is aiming for the kill when they face Equatorial Guinea.

“We are happy with our preparation. The boys have been working hard and are looking forward to tomorrow’s [Thursday] game,” Chambeshi said.

He said the team will not have a problem settling in Equatorial because the weather is not different from what they have been accustomed to during training in Cameroon.

“Even the weather here in Cameroon is the same with Equatorial Guinea. We have adapted to the weather what is remaining is just to play and make sure we collect maximum points,” he said.

On the unavailability of skipper Enock Mwepu and Evans Kangwa, Chambeshi said they will be missed but the technical bench will have to look for replacements within the team.

“Look, Mwepu and Kangwa, these are players that have been with us and they are important, but there is nothing we can do. We just have to look around within the team for a replacement,” Chambeshi said.

The match kicks – Off at 18:00hrs Zambian time.
