Republican Vice President madama Mutale Nalumango says the UPND will leave a legacy of peace after 50 years.

She says the new dawn government is concerned with the violence that has entrenched itself in the country.

When she responded to Pampashe Member of Parliament Mr Ronald Chitotela during the question and answer session in parliament, the vice president said the issue of violence has been left unchecked for years.

She said the UPND administration has since declared war on political violence and will do whatever it takes to ensure all perpetrators regardless of political affiliations are brought to book.

“We want to leave a legacy of peace after 50 years.Pamaka is not there anymore and it will not come back” she said .

Mr Chitotela wanted the vice president to come out categorical on what he termed as ‘political cleasing” taking place across the country especially after the August elections.

He said the level of political violence across the country is saddening and requires action to guarantee people the peace and freedom they need.
