THE World Youth and Leadership Foundation (WYLF) has urged the youth in Lusaka to join forces with the local authority to cleanup the environment before the onset of the rain season to prevent a possible outbreak of diseases such as cholera.
WYLF press and public relations Prosper Banda said the youth as well as the general public should take keen interest in protecting the health of the country before, during and after the rain season to prevent disease.
Mr. Banda said in an interview that while the country strived to keep the community clean and health, world youth and leadership foundation believes that it is cardinal for every Zambian youth to use their free time to volunteer and support the council to keep Lusaka city clean by joining the monthly routing general cleaning and avoid littering anyhow.
“As World Youth and Leadership Foundation, we are looking forward to join hands with the councils across the country every last Saturday of each month for city cleaning which is the exercise to be taken by every well-meaning Zambian,” he said.
This he said would assist the public to play a role in preventing the transmission and precautions of the coming rain season diseases such as cholera which come with hardest effects on human beings.
Mr. Banda said the side effects of rain season diseases come to affect everyone hence the need for the general public to support the council to keep the city clean by following the already measures put in place to protect health protocols during the coming rain season.
He said as WYLF, was also looking forward to joining hands with the councils across the country every last Saturday of each month for city cleaning which is the exercise to be taken by every well-meaning Zambian.
