ZEHEST HAPPY WITH EFFORTS TO CREATE JOBS IN ZAMBIAZEHEST

Empowerment Hub for Entrepreneurship and Skills Training (ZEHEST) has commended President Hakainde Hichilema’s efforts to reduce unemployment in Zambia.

ZEHEST Executive Director Clarence Muzyamba has noted with gratitude that the recruitment of teachers, health workers and Census Enumerators is a positive Development.

He has urged Government to continue doing more to empower citizens.

“The organisation proposes that Government starts empowering citizens with land for agricultural purposes to alleviate poverty at household level,” He said.

“ZEHEST also notes that there is need for Start up capital from Government for emerging entrepreneurs,” He said.

He has since implored Government to reduce the bank lending rates so that more SMEs can access funds.

He has since proposed for an Entrepreneurship Bank, independent from Government.

Muzyamba had urge Government to help create Industries and manufacturing plants across the country where citizens, especially youths will be employed as an Empowerment.

“The organisation calls on Government to step up efforts on Job creation through entrepreneurship which is a solution to unemployment,” He stated.

ZEHEST added that there is need for the construction of more Skills Training centres more especially in rural areas to enable youths access various Life survival Skills.

He has further proposed collaboration with Government through the Ministry of Small and Medium Enterprise to conduct talent identification shows through ZEHEST Entrepreneurship and Empowerment symposiums conducted in communities.
