ZESCO Limited has explained that the power outages being experienced in some parts of the country from Wednesday this week is due to faults on the main substations resulting from heavy rains.
Zesco public relations manager Hazel Zulu said the faults were caused by fallen tree branches and poles on the main lines.
Ms. Zulu said in a statement yesterday that a team of engineers immediately moved on site to rectify the faults and restoration of supply had since commenced.
“Zesco Limited wishes to inform its customers and the public that the loss of power supply being experienced in some parts of the country from Wednesday, November 3, 2021 is due to faults on the main substations resulting from heavy rains,” she said.
Ms. Zulu said normal supply to all affected customers would be systematically restored as quickly as possible.
She advised customers to treat all supply lines as live to avoid any hazards.
“The inconvenience this has caused is deeply regretted,” Ms. Zulu said.
