The Zambia institute of purchasing and supply will hold it’s 9th annual conference on the 5th of October to 8th of October 2021 under the theme; ” Supply Chain: Leading Business and sustainable Economic Recovery- During the COVID Era,”.
Speaking at the media briefing held in Lusaka today ZIPS president Chibwe Mwelwa said the Zambia institute of purchasing, and supply has been given a critical responsibility in ensuring that procurement practitioners in Zambia contribute to cost reduction, value addition and much more the development of the national through prudent utilization of public and private funds.
“It can never be disputed that the cost of any organization be it public or private is directly linked to procurement practices employed,” Mr. Mwelwa said.
He notes that due to the complexity of the environment in which supply chains exist, procurement and stores has evolved over the year to reposition itself for the strategic pursuits both as a partner to government and the private sector in economic and national development.
