Seventy five (75) households in Mufulira District on the Copperbelt province have received 1125 village chickens.

This is under Empowered Children and Adolescents Program 1 which is a five years  USAID funded project being implemented by the Catholic Medical Mission Board Zambia (CMMB-Z).

CMMB-Z Community Services and Linkages Officer Shankley Moono says the goal of the project is to mitigate the impact of HIV/AIDS and promote health and well-being of the vulnerable children and adolescents.

Mr. Moono says the project is a pass-on to ensure stability in households by improving household economic security and linkage to social protection.

He adds that the project is aimed at ensuring children have access to health, education and that children are protected from any of gender based violence.
