The Catholic Church has called for hard work among political leaders, now that elections are over.
The church in Mansa Diocese has since urged the Mansa District Mayor to work with all stakeholders in the district as he takes on the responsibilities of his new mandate.
Bishop Patrick Chisanga said this when Mansa Mayor Njikho Musuku paid a courtesy call on him at his office today.
He added that the Catholic Church in Mansa District will always support the office of the mayor as well as offer checks and balances and spiritual support.
“Now that elections and campaigns are behind us and the people of Mansa voted for you, it’s time to start working on the things you promised to do” Bishop Chisanga added.
And Mansa Mayor Njikho Musuku appreciated the commitment of the Catholic Church to support his office.
“Our interest as the Council is to leave no one behind but to achieve this, we will need the support of the church as it encompasses many people – whom we are here to serve”, he said.
